I followed in my family footsteps and started smoking at the age of 14. Right around the same time I had started needing an asthma inhaler. At the age of 20 I had a son, the whole pregnancy I wanted and tried to quit smoking but I couldn’t. Growing up my son also needed to use a nebulizer, he was deathly sick every fall and winter to the point he had to go for chest xrays. My mom started getting very sick from many things that are classified as smoking related illnesses. I was smoking over 3 packs a day and could barely breath let alone talk at the age of 30. I ran into a friend that was vaping at a friends house. He informed me of it since he could visually see I was having trouble breathing as I lit another cig. A few months went by and I couldn’t handle the hacking I was going through all day. I started looking into this e-cig thing online and figured realll what could it hurt? I got an e-cig online which didn’t help me much. I found a vape shop an hour away, so I got in the car and went there. I was determined to not smoke anymore. They helped me and my boyfriend figure out how to get it to work for us. The date was December 17, 2012. A week later my mom quit with us then my dad even followed. In the past 3 1/2 years I have not had 1 cig. I have not used a inhaler either. My sons nebulizer has not been needed. My mom had lesions on her lungs that roswell took a biopsy of and told her that they don’t get better they just get worse. That was before she quit, a year later they looked at them again and they had started to shrink. Unfortunately it was a little to late for my mom, after all the years of smoking she passed at the ripe old age of 57. That pushes me to keep from smoking by vaping. I don’t want my son to have to watch me slowly get sicker and sicker. I want to see grandkids and maybe even great grandkids someday. That was not my path before I found my first e-cig!
