i’m 35, and I was a pack a day smoker for the better part of 20 years. In the past 10 years, I’ve tried several times to quit. The patch, nicotine gum & lozenges, cold turkey. nothing took for more than a couple months. I even went to my doctor and started taking Wellbutrin/Zyban. It worked, and just as I was nearing the 6 month mark to start weening off the medication, it took me to some really dark places and ended with a nervous breakdown and a suicide attempt. After that, Chantix wasn’t even considered as an option. A little over a year ago, I bought a Blu starter kit. After a 2 week transition period, I had officially quit smoking. Since then, I’ve lowered my nicotine level by half, and even trying to have an analogue cigarette nearly makes me sick. Vaping has officially made me a non-smoker. With my small collection of eGos and mods, and the variety of flavors available, I will never be a smoker again. I always keep a tobacco flavored juice with a slightly higher nic level on hand for whenever I get stressed to the point of wanting a real one. Vaping has already added years to my life, and I can taste and smell the real world. I really wanted to tell this story because of the Zyban incident. Suicide attempts are relatively common with this medication. Vaping has saved my life.
