I smoked for over 40 years and tried to quit a number of times unsuccessfully. After buying and using my first Ecig I noticed at the end of the first week that I had dropped from 2 packs a day down to about 6 cigarettes a day. I hadn’t noticed that I hadn’t reached for a cigarette often until the realization hit me. I continued to vape and occasionally smoke for about a year and one day I realized that it was useless to vape AND smoke, so I decided to quit. I finished the pack I had and never bought another. On top of that, I never wanted another cigarette! Vaping completely satisfied my need for nicotine. It’s been over 5 years since my last cigarette, but I’m still vaping because I like the actions of vaping. I never really wanted to quit smoking because it satisfied a nervous habit. Smoking gave me something to do with my hands. Vaping satisfies that need. I’ve titrated down fro 24mg to 3mg strength in my vaping liquids. I’m getting almost no nicotine, but it’s enough to satisfy me at a lower level. After 5+ years of NOT smoking I recently had a chest Xray when I had the flu. It came back normal. My lungs are clear. I’ve seen the Xray. My doctor recently recommended a routine CAT scan recommended for those of us who turn 65 just to check for pulmonary embolism that causes sudden death in older people who smoked over 5 years. Mine showed a normal aorta with no bulges or abnormal appearance. For the last 4 years since I retired, I’ve been exercising about 4 days a week. I do over 100 reps with medium weight on a curl bar and then I ride my exercise bike for 6 miles, topping out at 80% resistance. I feel great after my workout! Vaping instead of smoking restored my ability do that. Before I quit smoking and started vaping, I’d start to breathe heavily just walking from the parking lot into a building. That symptom is gone!
