Unlike most people who have benefited from the use of electronic cigarettes, I was never a ƒ??daily smokerƒ? in the conventional sense. I went through a pack of cigarettes in about 2 weeks, skipping days here and there as I pleased. I was, however, a daily smoker of hookah. I would smoke at least 2-3 bowls of shisha with friends every day, starting the summer after I graduated high school in 2011. This appealed to me more than cigarettes because it had less of an effect on my lungs and I liked the flavors. I actually hookahed before I started smoking cigarettes. I would only smoke cigarettes to satisfy nicotine cravings if I was unable to hookah. The combination of hookah and occasional cigarettes began affecting my health after about a year of consistent use of both. I had asthma as a child and the symptoms began resurfacing (tight feeling in lungs, persistent cough, wheezing in the morning), all of which were relatively mild but still a bother. In November of 2012, one of my friends purchased a fixed voltage e-cigarette starter kit. I tried it out and decided to get one of my own. By the end of the month I had bought an eGo-C Twist with a couple flavors. I cut the amount I hookahed in half and completely quit cigarettes at this point. I vaped on 12mg nicotine content juice consistently until about March of this year, when I purchased a mechanical mod and rebuildable atomizer. I found that the 12mg juice was too harsh on this setup, so I went down to 6mg juice and Iƒ??ve been vaping that ever since. My asthma symptoms have almost completely disappeared. My lungs have never felt better in my life. I vape daily; when I drive, when Iƒ??m at home, when Iƒ??m with friends, pretty much whenever I can. The only time I feel any tightness in my chest is when its brought about from seasonal allergens or some pets (things Iƒ??ve always been allergic to). Thatƒ??s pretty much where I am now! I would, however, like to comment on some of the answers of the survey. There were some options which offered that people would turn to the black market to purchase their flavors if they were somehow banned from legitimate sales. I CANNOT STRESS HOW TRUE THIS IS. If I were to go into a store one day and find that all I could buy were tobacco or menthol flavors made by some FDA-approved, government-backed juice maker, I would walk right out the door and immediately call around asking for where I could find my favorite brand. I can say with confidence that a significant portion of the e-cig community would do the exact same thing. So far, the future of vaping looks bright if it remains unregulated, and even brighter with the RIGHT regulation. Either way, Iƒ??ll remain a part of the community! Mark
