I started smoking cigarettes at age 13. I am currently 59 years old. It has been 2 years and 2 months since I have had even one puff off an analog cigarette. That success has been possible due to my discovery of E-cigarettes. I had a pack-a-day habit for most of my 44years as a smoker. During that time I tried a variety of strategies to quit. None of them were successful for longer than three months. In my later 20??s and my 30??s I tried Nicotine Gum, Hypnosis, Acupuncture, and Support Groups. I gave up quitting for a number of years and tried again many times in my 40??s and 50??s with Gum, Nicotine Patches and on-line Support Groups. None of these were successful for very long and I??d find myself smoking again in short order. In June of 2011 I discovered E-Cigarettes. Somewhat skeptical, I took the plunge and placed an online order. My first thought was that I needed something that looked and tasted like a cigarette so that is the type I ordered. I haven??t touched an analog cigarette since the day that arrived. It didn??t take long to realize that the experience with the cheap imitation cigarette style was less than satisfactory so I went online and started researching what else was out there. I tried several styles including a few mods and eventually found what works for me. I have been vaping with my Ego-T exclusively for almost two years now and it still works for me. I also discovered the tremendous variety of juice available and have tried quite a few flavors from quite a few companies. I have found some favorites and still like to search for new flavors. I started out with the intention of slowly cutting back the nicotine, but when I tried getting down to 12 mg I found myself thinking longingly of cigarettes. As soon as I got the nicotine level back up to fairly strong at 24 mg those delusions went away. Switching to E-cigarettes has vastly improved my life. I smell better. I??m not inconveniencing others with clouds of foul-smelling smoke. I breathe easier. My chronic cough is gone. I spend much less money on a habit that is now somewhat of a hobby. My wife and my friends are much happier with the E-cigarette in my life, as am I.
