June 20, 2013 My name is Robert and I am a recovering addict of tobacco/nicotine. I am not addicted to any other controlled substances or otherwise (i.e. prescription medication, illicit drugs, alcohol, etc.) Tobacco was my only addiction and I am happy to advise that I no longer take part in that addiction with many thanks to electronic cigarettes. I began smoking tobacco cigarettes when I was 18 years old and smoked for approximately 12 consecutive years (without being able to stop for any significant period of time). I made about a dozen attempts at stopping over the course of this time and have tried many smoking cessation products/methods to no avail. I have tried ƒ??cold turkeyƒ?, weaning, support groups, nicotine patches, nicotine gum, Bupropion (Wellbutrin), Chantix, etc. The longest time I was able to keep from smoking was one month. My main motivation for quitting came with the birth of my daughter which, for obviously apparent reasons, gave me even more drive to quit. Even though I then possessed a stronger impetus to quit, I still failed miserably at my attempts even with the aid of nicotine patches and gum. Last year in February, my wife convinced me to try again after my daughter turned one-year-old and she even purchased the patches again for me. I was now smoking approximately a pack of tobacco cigarettes per day and I felt like I needed to find a different method. I stumbled across the disposable form of the electronic cigarette in a local gas station. Realizing the products of same carried at convenience stores were probably of low quality, I started doing research. Everywhere I went, I found success stories of people who had successfully quit smoking tobacco using electronic cigarettes. This gave me hope and I then decided to purchase a starter kit containing my first E-Go battery and accessories to build a personal vaporizing device. The design was simple, cost effective and easy to understand. I purchased my kit at a local vendor specializing in such devices and received from them a wealth of knowledge on how to operate and maintain my device. I also purchased 24 mg strength nicotine liquid (tobacco flavored). I still had half a pack of tobacco cigarettes left when I walked away with my fully functioning device. Even though I was a pack a day smoker (20 cigarettes per day), I was able to make those last ten cigarettes last two weeks with the aid of the electronic cigarette. I finished my last cigarette on March 1st, 2012 and havenƒ??t even had the desire for one since. It has been one year and four months of exclusively using the electronic cigarette. I have now graduated from my original E-Go style battery to two different mods with variable voltage (to customize my vaporizing experience). I am easily and consistently using liquid with a content of 6 mg of nicotine with plans of dropping the nicotine level to zero before the end of the year. Since I started using electronic cigarettes, I have noticed a marked improvement in my health, fitness, stress level and overall well-being (not to mention being easier on my pocket book). My senses of taste and smell have returned to their former glory as well. I feel like I am on the right track to be around long enough to see my children grow up, get married and have kids of their own. I am thankful to this new technology of electronic cigarettes as it has provided me with the ability to look forward on a brighter and much longer future.
