I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day for 36 years. I attempted to quit numerous times over the years, I tried “Cigarest” (80’s) , Chantex, Acupuncture, Hypnosis, Cold Turkey, Counseling, The Patch, Lozenges, Nicorette gum, and these drops that you put on the end of your cigarette filter. The longest I “Stayed quit” was 2 days and that was using “Chantex” but the cravings were so bad…
Smoking really takes a toll on ones health, I had chronic Bronchitis and used 2 inhalers a day (Advair and a rescue inhaler). When I would get a cold I would be sick for weeks, I would have to resort to breathing treatments just to be able to breathe.
March 8, 2014 my husband and I stopped at vape shop for the sole purpose of cutting down on smoking (because quitting was impossible) we each bought a vape pen with 2 bottles of eliquid a tobacco/red hot cinnamon , and a root beer flavor with 18mg of nicotine, That was the last day I smoked a cigarette! I had no cravings, I didn’t put on any weight, the transition was seamless.
I believe the main reason vaping was/is successful is because of the ability to change your flavor, change your device and to change your nicotine level. While I started on 18mg’s, I am currently on 3mg’s of nicotine, and my flavors have changed throughout the years, I started with a tobacco/red hot cinnamon and I currently use a strawberry/kiwi yogurt.
Since I have been vaping my health has improved so much. I no longer have the “Smokers cough” I can walk up a flight of stairs without gasping for air, I haven’t used my inhalers since I started vaping and best of all is when I get a cold, it doesn’t land me in the hospital or doctors office!
