My name is David Kleman I was a 2 pack a day smoker and also dipped a can of skoal every two days. I smoked for almost 11 years and dipped for almost 5 years. I knew the risks of smoking and dipping but like many I continued, even after I watched my grandmother die of emphysema and COPD in 2008. I was first introduced to an electronic cigarette in 2009 but was skeptical of how well it worked. I tried using nicoret gum and the lozenges but they never gave me the satisfaction I got from smoking so I continued to smoke until April of 2013. I bought my first electronic cigarette for myself and my then girlfriend, now wife. On April 24, 2013 I put down my cigarettes and can of skoal and used my eGo pen electronic cigarette with 12mg nicotine peach flavored eliquid and never looked back. I used it until the battery quit charging and bought my first rebuildable mod. I still have it as a reminder of where I first really felt the satisfaction I felt with cigarettes and dip. It’s been Three years and I have not used any tobacco product of any kind. I currently have 6 mods and different tank and atomizer systems, but my favorite is by far my Billet box mod with 3mg nicotine strawberry milk flavored eliquid. I haven’t used any tobacco products since then and I think I can safely say that vaping saved my life. I no longer suffer from the allergies like I did when I smoked. I can taste things that I was unable to when I smoked (pizza in particular). I can breathe better and no longer get winded like I did when I smoked. I don’t get sick like I used to when I smoked. I smile more now because I don’t have a pinch of tobacco in my lip. I think the only real negative I’ve found about vaping is the look I get from my wife when I find some new innovative vaping gear. I may have spent a large sum of money acquiring the gear and eliquids I have, but it’s a better alternative to where I would be if I had continued smoking and dipping.
